Sterling Silver Cross Pendant with Cats eye Moonstone
These crosses are not about any religious beliefs. They belong to a different kind of faith, the quiet belief we carry in ourselves, in others, and in the secret languages of symbols. The cross here is an ancient sign, stripped of doctrine and worn instead as a piece of iconography, a shorthand for burden and resilience, for brightness and humour in heavy times.
Cast from an original Georgian-era master pattern, these silver crosses carry fragments of history in every curve and corner. Each one has been reworked and reimagined in wax, with new details, coloured gemstones and a little sense of humour..
This cat’s eye moonstone has the softest, most luminous green colour, eternally shifting with an inner glow that feels almost alive.

What causes the ‘cat eye effect’? I’m glad you asked! The curious optical phenomenon is called Chatoyancy, and is the name given to the ‘cat’s eye’ effect, which can be seen in certain gemstones. The term ‘chatoyancy’, deriving from the French for ‘shining like a cat’s eye’, denotes the effect that occurs when a bright light is shone onto a rounded, reflective surface and causes light to be reflected back in narrow line perpendicular to the observer’s line of sight. This can be seen by looking at a spool of shiny thread or some cabochon-cut gems. Enjoy this special gem!
